Karns City Area district students will have the benefit of state of the art sports technology this school year thanks to a donation of equipment by NexTier Bank.
NexTier Bank recently awarded the Karns City Area School District a donation of $11,500 towards the purchase of two new energy efficient LED digital scoreboards at the Junior Senior High complex which will serve volleyball, basketball, physical education students, and the Karns City community for years to come.
The Lady Gremlins varsity volleyball team captains Alyssa Stitt and Rayna Miller assisted in acknowledging the generous donation during a brief ceremony prior to the volleyball match on Monday, September 17 by presenting a signed team volleyball to Carol Achezinski, Senior Vice President of Preferred Corporate Services and Shirley Simpson, Vice President Personal Banking along with KCASD Board members Denny Kelly and Charlie Johns. “We at NexTier Bank are very excited to give back to the community here in Karns City,” Mrs. Achezinski stated. “We place a top priority on supporting our valued local communities. It is our hope that those who attend KCASD events and observe the scoreboard are reminded that NexTier Bank is committed to being a community partner. We hope this donation will be enjoyed by the students of Karns City for many generations.” The district is doing their share of recycling too as the previous high school scoreboards will be placed in the Chicora Elementary gymnasium for use by the Junior High and Elementary basketball programs.
“The new scoreboards make our sporting events much more memorable for our students, parents, and spectators,” said KCASD Superintendent Eric Ritzert. “NexTier Bank has been a great supporter of our school and community. We are grateful for their generous donation.”
