Each Karns City senior soccer player selected one teacher to wear a soccer shirt for them. It was a fun way for the seniors to thank their teachers and for the teachers to show their support for our seniors.

Fifth grade students from Karns City Area Elementary School spent the day exploring the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh. During their visit, students participated in a guided tour focused on Pennsylvania Natural History, where museum interpreters brought science to life through engaging exhibits.

The Karns City Junior-Senior High School will host the annual Fall Variety Show on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 pm in the auditorium.

Karns City alumnus, Class of 2024, Dane King is currently serving in the United States Marine Corps. He recently came home from training and surprised his brother, Colin King, during his high school lunch period.

All members of the service, both past and present, are invited to join us at Karns City Jr./Sr. High School for a luncheon and assembly in honor of the sacrifices you have made for our country on Friday, November 7, 2025. The luncheon begins at noon in the library, followed by a school wide assembly at 1:00 pm.

Karns City Area Elementary School recently participated in Rock Your School Day, a nationwide initiative started by Get Your Teach On. Rock Your School Day was started to encourage teachers and schools to create an educational experience by doing something different for their students, and is about teachers, their students, and a community of educators celebrating the little things!

Karns City Jr./Sr. High School students, staff and community members are welcome to purchase Veterans Day apparel. Any students or staff members who purchase apparel are encouraged to wear it to the Veterans Day assembly on November 7th.
A portion of all proceeds will be donated to local veteran organizations. Thank you for your support!

We are grateful to our Karns City Area Elementary School PTO for their generous support in purchasing new furniture for the common learning areas in our primary and intermediate collaborative spaces. This new addition creates a welcoming environment for students to learn, connect, and grow together.

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for construction of Additions and Renovations to Chicora Elementary School, 205 Kittanning Street, Chicora, PA 16025 will be received at the Administrative Offices of the Karns City Area School District at 1446 Kittanning Pike, Karns City, PA 16041 until 2:00 P.M., prevailing time, on January 11, 2023. Bids must be submitted to the attention of Evan McGarvey, Business Manager. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the Bidder and shall be clearly marked “Chicora Elementary School Additions & Renovations”. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the scheduled closing time for receipt of Bids. Bids received after the above-referenced date and time shall be returned to the Bidder unopened.
