Mrs. Twentier and Mrs. Seidler’s fifth grade classes really got into the Christmas spirit over the last few weeks!
They celebrated Santa Day, Reindeer Day, Ugly Sweater Day, and many more! They also made beautiful snowflakes on the Christmas Craft Day! They concluded the week with a pizza party provided by the PTO.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!
Our junior high students participated in the 12 Days of Kindness this month. It was a fun way to reward students for showing kindness toward others.
Each day students had a chance to earn a kindness ticket for helping others, being kind and going above and beyond. A winner was selected each day from the tickets that were turned in. As a reward, the winners got to watch a movie while enjoying a snack and hot chocolate.
Karns City Area Elementary School 5th grade students graduated from the DARE program in December.
The DARE program consists of ten lessons about making good decisions and the dangers of drugs and alcohol. The program was taught by Deputy McGrady from the Butler County Sheriff's Department.
A few select high school band students recently visited Karns City Area Elementary School and the Chicora Medical Center to play Christmas carols for the students and residents.
Four students represented Karns City at PMEA District 5 Honors Band! The festival concluded with a concert on Saturday afternoon. The students -- Brayden Dinger and Kira Cutway on flute, Conrad Dunlap on trumpet and Owen Black on French horn -- were each selected by audition on a collegiate level solo. Congratulations!
Many students, staff, parents, and alumni of Karns City enjoyed performing with the Kittanning Community Band for their winter concert series!
